The Issues
Our problems aren't new; it's time we change how we solve them.
Obtainable Housing
We all deserve to live in an affordable city, but too many Chattanoogans struggle with rising housing costs. It’s time to focus on housing development that makes sense for our communities. We need to create area plans for all neighborhoods to guide growth and development, and we must expand the criteria for the senior tax freeze to ensure our long-time neighbors aren’t priced out of their homes. Let’s work together to ensure that Chattanooga remains a city where everyone has the opportunity to find an affordable place to call home.
Community Investment
We take pride in our communities, and it’s time Chattanooga invests in the people and places that strengthen our neighborhoods. From increasing neighborhood beautification projects to investing in our roads and sidewalks, we can ensure safe and accessible spaces for all residents. Supporting small businesses will create local jobs and breathe life into our neighborhoods. Prioritizing the development of a stand-alone senior center will provide essential services and opportunities for our elder neighbors. Together, we can create a Chattanooga where everyone can thrive and take pride in the neighborhoods they call home.
Bright Futures
Investing in our young people is crucial for the future of Chattanooga. As a community, we must continue to find ways to pour into their lives and put them on paths of possibilities and opportunities. The city needs to continue investing in programs that work, like violence prevention, mentorship, and community centers. But money and programs alone are not enough. We each need to do our part to uplift our children so every child can have a bright future.
Safer Streets
Community safety is at the heart of growing and vibrant Chattanooga. By redesigning roads, we can slow down traffic and ensure the safety of cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians alike. Tackling property crime and gun violence is essential, and we must support and expand violence intervention programs as well as community patrol initiatives. Investing in first responders and revitalizing neglected areas will help deter crime and create a safer environment for everyone. Together, we can build a safer, more connected community.
