Meet Ron

I'm Ron Elliott, and I’m running for Chattanooga City Council, District 9.

I was born and raised in Tennessee, and my journey is rooted in the values I learned growing up in a family full of love and support. My mom was a single mom who put her dreams on hold to make sure I had what I needed. My dad, a police officer, stepped into my life and raised me as his own. They taught me that the strength of a community comes from working together for something bigger than ourselves.

I went on to study Public Policy and Economics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I have done everything—from bagging groceries to helping families pay their bills. I have even worked in City Hall. I’ve been on the ground and have seen the real challenges our people face every day. Chattanooga has grown and changed, but we have to ask—who is it changing for?

I see families struggling with rising housing costs, paychecks that don't stretch far enough, unsafe streets, and the lack of basic needs like grocery stores in our neighborhoods. This is why I’m running for City Council in District 9. This isn’t about politics—it’s about people. It’s about all of us who share the same dreams for our families—living in an affordable city, having good jobs with good pay, and ensuring our kids can play safely outside.

I believe in the power of community. Together, we can create safer roads and sidewalks, bring much-needed grocery stores to our neighborhoods, and support thriving small businesses. When we come together, the possibilities are endless.

I'm Ron Elliott, and I'm running for City Council in District 9 to invest in people and bring real change to our communities.
